Just got an email from a company that said it was their second request for me to remove a discount code from my blog. It took me a while to even find it, it was posted over a year ago. Seems to me that people would understand that after a certain amount of time (a year, certainly) that the code would not be valid. Not to mention the fact that I do not remove posts. They sent me the email requesting that I put the discount code on my blog. I told them to definitely rest assured that I would no longer post anything regarding their website. Has this happened to anyone else? This is a blog for fun, a personal blog. It is not a commercial blog. I don't get things for blogging about certain people, I just blog about things that I love. I am so frustrated about this, I'm not sure why it bothered me so much, but it did. I love writing and searching for cute gift ideas, but I almost wonder if it's worth all of the drama...

My friend Jackie and I went to A Shopping Spree this weekend at the Raleigh Convention Center hosted by The Junior League of Raleigh. Boy, was it ever packed! We did, however, manage to spot some really cute things:

This is our newest member of the family! My husband is a Siamese person, so for our anniversary, I found this guy at a rescue. We traveled to Greenville, NC to see him, took one look at him, and he was in the car on the way to our house. Can I just tell you, he is a terror with a capital 'T.' This is a first for me, I have never had more than one pet at a time. Mia is taking it all in stride, she is so patient, which is good. He is terribly hard headed and I am convinced that he is going to suffer brain damage from all of Mia's bonks in the head for sneaking up behind her and biting her tail! It's like watching a cartoon. I had very different names that I wanted to call him: Finnegan, Sushi, Pickles, etc. Alas, he is my husband's kitty and after a week of being No Name Gumshoe, he is now Gizmo! He may look a bit like Gizmo, but he acts like Spike the Gremlin. I have never had a kitten before, Miss Mia was 9 months old when we adopted her, and had much better manners! :) Stay tuned for some updates as he is growing up fast! Poor guy, and he has no problem playing with his sister's pink girly toys!

Mia Update

Good news-the biopsy for Mia came back negative for cancer! She has lymphocytic-plasmacytic gingivitis stomatitis. Basically, that's a few big words meaning that her mouth doesn't fight bacteria like it should, and she is "allergic" to plaque. The good news is that it is not cancer, the bad news is she will probably have to have her teeth cleaned frequently, eat a special food, learn to let me brush her teeth, and visit the vet more often than she likes! Although it doesn't sound all that great, worst case scenario is she has to have her teeth removed. At least for now it is something that we can manage, and my sweet kitty will be well taken care of!

If you're in the Raleigh area, consider taking your best furry friend to Falls Village Veterinary Hospital. Everyone there from the front desk to the doctors are wonderful! I am so happy that we found Dr. Brink-she kept our Sharpei, Gilligan healthy a lot longer than we thought possible. And now, they will help us keep Miss Mia happy and healthy for many years to come!
